On money

Why is it that we as a society seem to place so much importance on acquiring wealth?  Money is only a means to an ends really.  You don't wrap a broken arm in dollar bills or slice up cash to toss into a salad.  Though if you have more stagnant money that you're really not doing anything with, that somehow makes you a better person so far above the peasants.

A friend of mine today offered to take us all out for lunch because he had gotten his tax return check in the mail.  He didn't ask for us to repay him, only that we don't get the most expensive thing on the menu.  The money had only been in his position for a short time, and he didn't let it fester in some bank vault that doesn't do anybody any good.

  5. money is what gives you time to spend with your family, but it is a strange concept when you think about it

  6. I tend to disagree, I would rather keep the money in a bank vault. No need to spend some of it just to get my friends some food. That's just me though :P Definitely make some more posts though

  8. I totally agree. My parents were set on me going to university so I could get a good, respectable career that pays a lot, but I'd rather get a job where I am having fun, and enjoying life. Still, in today's society you do need a level of material wealth to be able to live, which is slightly depressing.
